Google’s web indexing system favors recently updated content, especially for time-sensitive searches. In the world of SEO, there is speculation that Google’s indexer will only give a certain document credit for having a given word in its title if that word appears in the first 12 words of the title tag. Google follows links. Links are important. So get the word out. Reach out to other site owners – preferably of topically related websites. But the blogging holy grail is just this: A quality blog improves your Google ranking, which will draw leads to your website and encourage them to make purchases.
SEO is a journey, not a destination
Optimizing images to rank well in search is a must for an increasingly visual web: a good logo or some eye-catching graphics can be as effective at attracting visitors to your website as your written content. SEO doesn’t have to be hard or require an expert team to get results. If you’ve got a process and a structure, you can rank your content in search engines quite quickly. If your site is littered with lengthy, indecipherable URLs that don’t align well with the actual content of your site pages, restructuring your URLs should definitely be a priority during your next website redesign. Wondering where SEO comes into play here? While just like the searchers themselves, search engines prefer URLs that make it easy to understand what your page content is all about. I think that ranking number one these days, is more about market share and visibility than just ranking number one for an industry term.
Create great content that people want to link to
Website Optimization is important for making users feel comfortable while using your website, as well as collecting information from those users to further your advertising goals. The relevance of a website’s content is particularly important for search engines; it affects how high a website will appear in the search results for a given search term. Remember: Google wants to see that people are spending time on your website and the best way you can ensure this happens is by making content that people want to read. Moreover, you need to ensure that that content is presented in a way that encourages people to stick around. Either a piece of content can help your website’s search engine rankings or it can hurt your rankings.
If it isn’t on Google, it doesn’t exist
One of the first things you ’re going to need to do is to fill your site with great content and to use your keywords throughout. There’s a fine line to be walked here: you need to repeat the phrase a few times to ensure that you create that association but at the same time, you also need to make sure that you don’t overdo it and thereby appear to be spamming. Whenever I speak to people about SEO, the number one question that I get asked is, “What’s the most important factor to rank number one in Google?” The age of backlinks matter. Links that have existed for a long time weigh more heavily in your website’s link graph. According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "Great content never sleeps, never needs a lunch break and is adored by search engines and customers alike."
Determining the goal for the site
There are many on-page elements that go into optimizing a piece of content for the search engines – such as title tags, keyword placement, using multiple content types, topic modeling, etc. While you should not hide your heading tag in an image, you should still give search engines more opportunities to link to your website by adding keywords in the image alt text and file name. Google has come out and said that HTTPS is a confirmed ranking factor. That said, they haven’t actually confirmed how much this impacts search rankings. Local businesses can’t be fully evaluated on the basis of links.
